  • 4 Potatoes
  • 5 Tbsp Oil
  • 2 small onions
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup green peas


  • Cut the potatoes into medium pieces and fry them lightly
  • Heat the oil in a large non stick pan, add the onions, garlic and ginger and cook till the onions brown. This should be 8-10 mins
  • Add the turmeric, chili and coriander powder and continue frying for a few seconds till the spices get cooked. Not more than a few seconds because they will burn
  • Add the tomato puree and cook it well till the tomato puree gives out oil
  • Add the peas and fry. Add some water and cover and simmer for a little bit
  • Add the potatoes and continue cooking till it cooks through
