Serves: 4 – 6

Ingredients

  • 500 gms paneer
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 inch piece of ginger
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp chilai powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp mango powder (amchur)
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • Coriander leaves
  • 3 Tbsp oil

Whole Spices

  • 2 bay leaf
  • 3 cloves
  • 2 green cardamoms
  • 5-6 black peppercorns
  • 1 inch cinnamon

Instructions

  • Crumble the paneer into bits and set aside
  • Heat the oil in a large non stick pan and add the whole spices
  • Add the onions, and cook till the onions brown. This should be 8-10 mins. Add the garlic and ginger and cook
  • Add the turmeric, chili, cumin, mango and coriander powder and continue frying for a few seconds
  • Add the tomato puree and cook it well till the tomato puree gives out oil
  • Add the paneer and fry. Add some water, cover and cook till the water reduces
  • Add the garam masala after you shut down the fire and decorate with coriander leaves
