Serves: 4 – 6


  • 2 cups of white rice (jasmine)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 can (400g) evaporated milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Ice cubes
  • Ground cinnamon for garnish


  • Soak the rice in the water along with the cinnamon stick overnight or at least for 6 hours
  • After soaking, place the mixture into a blender along with the water.
  • Add evaporated milk, sugar and vanilla extract and blend till smooth
  • Strain the liquid through a fine sieve a few times to remove grittiness. Keep refrigerated
  • Serve with ice with ground cinnamon on top, if desired.
